Trevor Noah The Daily Show

On Thursday, Trevor Noah shared a video on Twitter in which Trevor Noah said that after seven years as host of the Comedy  Central satirical news program, his “time is up” in the show.

Noah said”It been an amazing journey It is something that he never expected,” of his experience hosting The Daily Show. “He found himself thinking throughout the time of everything they have gone through.

The Trump presidency, the pandemic, just the journey, more pandemic, and I realize that after seven years of hosting the show his time is up.”

Noah is a standup comedian from South Africa and he was a newcomer to American audiences when he was named as host of “The Daily Show” after Jon Stewart signed off in 2015.

Noah said, “He wants to say thank you to everyone who watched this,” “He had never dreamed that he would be here. He feels like ‘Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.’ He came here for a tour of what the previous show was and then the next thing we know that he was handed the keys.”

Noah gave the hint that his decision to leave the show is rooted to return to more standup work.

“He had spent his two years in his apartment, not on the road, and when he got back out there, he realized that there is another part of his life he want to carry on exploring. He misses learning other languages and going to other countries and putting on shows,” Trevor Noah said.

He had expressed his gratitude to his viewers, “The Daily Show” team, and Comedy Central.

He did not share much info about his final show would be but said he’d still be around for a while.

Trevor Noah also said“Don’t worry, I’m not disappearing,” “If I owe you money, I will still pay you.”
