Wendell and Wild Characters
Wendell and Wild is a 2022 American stop-motion horror comedy film. The film is directed by Henry Selick from a screenplay produced and written by Selick and Jordan Peele, based on the unpublished book of the same name by Selick and Clay McLeod Chapman.
Wendell and Wild Characters are Keegan-Michael Key and Jordan Peele as minor characters with Angela Bassett, Lyric Ross, James Hong, and Ving Rhames in supporting roles. In 2009 It was Selick’s first feature film since Coraline
It received generally positive reviews from critics who welcomed Selick’s return and praised its stop-motion animation and characters but criticized its screenplay.
The film is dedicated to Mark Musumesi, a power consultant who had worked on Selick’s previous stop-motion features since The Nightmare Before Christmas, who died during production.

In this movie, it is told that Young Kat Elliot lives with her parents Delroy and Wilma, who own a root beer brewery in the town of Rust Bank. Driving home on a stormy night, Kat is frightened by a two-headed worm in her candy apple, leading her father to veer off a bridge; only Kat survives. 5 years later, Kat is an embittered, punk rock-loving juvenile delinquent who blames herself for her parent’s deaths.
Meanwhile, demon brothers Wendell and Wild spend their days in the underworld putting rejuvenating hair cream on their balding father, Buffalo Belzer, while dreaming of making an amusement fair for departed souls.
It premiered at the 47th Toronto International Film Festival on September 11, 2022, was released in select theaters on October 21, 2022, and had a streaming release on Netflix on October 28, 2022.
