2022 Film You Won’t Be Alone Trailer Breakdown
The trailer starts by showing scenes of landscapes, farmers, and children. Then, we see a frightened mother place her baby girl in a crib then close her shutters. She falls to her knees and we see the outline of a horrific monster in the background who snatches the baby, despite the mother’s cries of pain.
As the baby girl grows into a woman, we see her take an interest in the world around her. Tones of piano music play softly mirroring the girl’s innocence. The music comes to a climax as we see the woman, now a witch, reach out to touch the skin of a little girl who screams and runs away. The woman then asks herself if she is the devil. The tone of the trailer switches from innocence to horror as the woman accidentally kills a villager before taking her skin to live life in her victim’s body.
As the trailer comes to its ending, we see flashes of images showing life for the witch in her new skin, glimpses of the crimes she commits, and a longing to experience life to the fullest. Throughout the trailer, director and writer Goran Stolevski rely heavily on close-ups, leaving much to the audience’s imagination. The trailer itself is visually stunning, showing overcast skies, lush forests, and dark, twisted scenes of violence. From start to finish, the trailer is captivating, in a beautiful yet haunting way.
