Parents Resources Guide- The parent Resource Guide is the result of inter-organization efforts among the Ingham Great Start Collaborative partners. The Parent Resource Guide was the idea of the Ingham GSC Parent Education Workgroup.
They acted on the idea and started the project with the support of the Early Childhood Investment Corporation Implementation Grant.
The goal of the Parents Resource Guide
The goal of the Resource Guide is to give information to parents about a variety of education, supports, and services that help strengthen the vital roles families play in their children’s development.
The Parent Resource Guide is a work in progress. Over the years, we have developed basic criteria for the resources offered in this guide which include free or low cost, fun, and family-oriented, as assessed by the parents who are raising a child prenatal through age eight.
The Parent Resource Guide is divided into 6 sections by category: Prenatal Education; Parenting Classes; Parent Support Groups; Parenting Resources; Home Visitation; and Parent-Child Activities
Parent Resource Guide information in the directory is also being included in the Central Michigan 2-1-1 Community Agency database, which can be examined by dialing the mid- Michigan area 211 or at www.centralmichigan211.org. (Source- Google)
