Awakenings Overview

1969. Dr. Malcolm Sayer is appointed as a clinical physician at Bronx local hospital, but the job is not favorable on his side as he doesn’t like to deal with people. He finds out that some of the patients, instead of their normally catatonic state, giving responding to some instigation. While doing some research, he also comes to know that some similar bonds between all his patients are that they went through encephalitis in the 1920s or 1930s

And now he has to convince, albeit reluctantly, his boss, Dr. Kaufman, to direct a costly experimental drug therapy on a single patient with family approval. But Malcolm is unaware of the long-term effect of the drug on the patient.
