Belle Parents Guide
Belle (“The Dragon and Freckled Princess”) is a 2021 Japanese animated sci-fi fantasy film written and directed by Mamoru Hosoda and produced by Studio Chizu. The film premiered on July 15, 2021, at the 2021 Cannes Film Festival. It was theatrically released in Japan on July 16, 2021.
In North America, the film will be distributed by GKIDS and will be released in the United States on January 14, 2022.

Plot
Suzu is a shy high school student living in a rural village. For years, she has only been a shadow of herself. But when she enters “U”, a massive virtual world, she escapes into her online persona as Belle, a globally-beloved singer.
One day, her concert is interrupted by a monstrous creature chased by vigilantes. As their hunt escalates, Suzu embarks on an emotional and epic quest to uncover the identity of this mysterious “beast” and to discover her true self in a world where you can be anyone.
