Fred Claus was first announced in October 2005 with Mike Mitchell attached to direct. Fred Clause was released in the United States on November 9, 2007, by Warner Bros. Pictures. Fred Claus is based on the poem “A Legend of Santa and His Brother Fred” by Donald Henkel. The film received mixed failures and grossed $97 million worldwide against a $100 million production market.

The story tells of two Klaus brothers, Fred (Vince Vaughn) the troublemaker, and the polar opposite of his saintly brother Nicholas (Paul Giamatti). When Fred’s criminal ways eventually land him in big trouble, Nicholas kicks him out and takes him to the North Pole to work in debt-making toys.
A headache ensues for Saint Nick, who must deal not only with his troubled brother but also with an efficiency expert who has come to evaluate Santa’s operation.
