After Seven Years James Corden is Leaving ‘The Late Late Show’

After seven and a half years James Corden is preparing to say goodbye to ‘The Late Late Show’

After the extension of his contract for one year now the series will depart ahead of summer 2023. Corden is hosting the show for the last seven and a half years and by the time he departs, he will complete eight and a half years on The Late Late Show.

Before Corden, The Late Late Show was hosted by Craig Ferguson for 9 years, in 2014 Corden signed a contract to host The Late Late Show and the show premiered on March 23, 2015.

“It’s been it’s a really hard decision to leave because I’m so immensely proud of the show,” Corden told Deadline. “I’m thrilled to be extending. I always thought I’d do it for five years and then leave, and then I stayed on. I’ve really been thinking about it for a long time, thinking whether there might be one more adventure.” Said James Corden in his exit statement.

“I really think in a year from now that will be a good time to move on and see what else might be out there. Okay?” he concluded.
