The Scream 6 franchise will have to figure out how it will survive without Neve Campbell because she is not returning for the sequel.
Campbell made her decision not to come back for Scream 6 after receiving an offer that she says does not return the value she brings to the franchise.
In the course of 4 fantastic films directed by the late Wes Craven, she played the part of Sidney Prescott who is one of the most iconic final girls in the history of cinema.
Can the franchise come through its final girl?
Neve Campbell refused to take an offer and said “Sadly I won’t be making the next Scream film. As a woman, I have had to work extremely hard in my career to establish my value, especially when it comes to Scream”
Further, she said “I felt the offer that was presented to me did not equate to the value I have brought to the franchise. It’s been a very difficult decision to move on. To all my Scream fans, I love you.”
She concluded “You’ve always been so incredibly supportive to me. I’m forever grateful to you and to what this franchise has given me over the past 25 years.”
Campbell’s withdrawal from the franchise could seriously damage the sequel and the fans won’t be happy to see their favorite characters leaving.
