Series Star Trek: Lower Decks Overview
Star Trek: Lower Decks is set in the Star Trek universe in the year 2380, in which Earth is important for the multi-species United Federation of Planets. The Federation’s military and investigation division, Starfleet, works an armada of starships that venture to every part of the universe building up contact with extraterrestrial societies.
Lower Decks centers around the help team of one of Starfleet’s most un-significant starships. Not at all like past Star Trek series, whose chief characters are normally starship commanders or other senior officials, Lower Decks centers around “lower deckers”, low-positioning officials with humble positions; the skipper and other ranking staff show up as supporting characters
