New Disney+ series Obi-Wan Kenobi star Moses Ingram after her debut in the series last Friday received anti-black messages from Star Wars toxic fans.
Ingram shared some messages on her Instagram story that she received from strangers. One said, “You’re days are numbered,”. Another message said “You suck loser,” and, “You’re a diversity hire and you won’t be loved or remembered for this acting role.”
In the series, Ingram is portrayed as a villain named Reva Sevander, aka “The Third Sister,” who bows to Darth Vader. She received hundreds of messages from haters about anti-Black and misogynists.
People are criticizing Moses for portraying a fictional villain who does evil things and targeting Ingram with racist messages.
In response to racist haters, Star Wars took a stand for their actress. The official Star Wars Twitter account came out in defense of the star. See the Star Wars’ official tweet below:
We are proud to welcome Moses Ingram to the Star Wars family and excited for Reva’s story to unfold. If anyone intends to make her feel in any way unwelcome, we have only one thing to say: we resist. pic.twitter.com/lZW0yvseBk
