The upcoming thriller ‘The Critic’ is based 2015 thriller novel Curtain Call written by Anthony Quinn. The story is set in the 1934 London theater world.
Two-time Academy Award-nominated actor Ian McKellen will be seen in the lead role of the upcoming thriller The Critic.
Along with the McKellen, the other cast members include Gemma Arterton and Mark Strong. The trio will be seen in leading roles in the film.

- Mark Strong will be playing the new owner of Jimmy’s newspaper
Supporting cast members include Lesley Manville, Romola Garai, Ben Barnes, and Alfred Enoch.
McKellen is best known for the Lord of the Rings trilogy in which he played Gandalf. He is also a Tony and Laurence Olivier award-winning actor. He is also famous for the X-Men series.
Arterton is very well known for films like Summerland, Quantum of Solace, and The King’s Man. She is a two-time Laurence Olivier Award-nominated actress.
Strong is also a Laurence Olivier Award-winning actor who is known for his work in films like 1917 and Zero Dark Thirty.
The Critic director and production
The Critic is going to be directed by Anand Tucker and is being produced by Bill Kenwright and Jolyon Symonds. Executive producers include David Gilbery, Tucker, Marber, Mark Gordon, Tom Butterfield, and Harry White.
No official release date of the film is announced yet. However, Production on The Critic is reported to be currently underway in London.
