Film The Last Duel Overview

In 14th-century France, Marguerite de Thibouville claims she has been raped by her husband’s best friend. Her husband, knight Jean de Carrouges, challenges his friend and squire Jacques Le Gris to trial by combat.
Against Marguerite’s wishes, Jean decides to challenge Jacques to a duel to the death, even though he knows that if he loses, it will leave his wife in a precarious position.
It is the last legally sanctioned duel in France’s history. King Charles VI declares that Knight Jean de Carrouges settle his dispute with his squire by challenging him to duel combat.
