Isabelle Rossignol (alias: Juliette Gervaise; codename: the Nightingale): She is the younger daughter of Julien Rossignol and one of the novel’s heroines.

Julien Rossignol: He is the father to Vianne and Isabelle, Julien is emotionally distant from his daughters after his experiences in World War I and after the death of his wife.

The Nightingale is one of the best-sellers. I finished it within 4 days. The story of the two sisters is so moving and engaging. This novel caused me to be interested in the book and knowing more about the lives of French women during World war 2. This one is one of my favorite books and I’ll recommend it to book-lover.
