The scene where an adolescent girl graphically kills her mother with a meat cleaver is extremely disturbing and jarring. Will probably stick with some viewers.
No sexual activity, alcohol and drugs is shown throughout the whole movie.
Several continued sequences involving abashed or bedevilled children.

The Witch Overview

In 1630 New England, great fear and hopelessness envelop a farmer, his married woman, and their children when youngest son Samuel suddenly goes from view. The family makes responsible  Thomasin the eldest daughter who was watching the boy at the time of his out of existence.

With a feeling of doubt about and paranoia getting on, 1 of 2 siblings Mercy and Jonas person likely of wrongdoing  Thomasin of unnatural acts using strange powers, testing the stretched family group’s belief, true, certain support and love to one another.
