Review of If We Were Villains
I liked this book a lot. I guess whatever I write will still not explain what a roller coaster the ending was for me. James’s explanation to Oliver in the final scene had me sobbing, and every page after that made me sob again and again.
“Per aspera ad astra. I’d heard a variety of translations, but the one I liked best was Through the thorns, to the stars.”
― M.L. Rio, If We Were Villains
I don’t know if I’m the only one who’s experienced these feelings while reading, but I really hope I’m not. I think this is my favorite book.
