Jackass Forever: looking forward to the ‘Gnarliest shit’

Jackass Forever Trailer Breakdown

The final trailer of Jackass forever is finally released by Paramount Pictures and it’s exhilarating, to say the least. Watching the trailer, one can certainly feel the level of the game going up!

Through the trailer, we get to have a little look at the extremely dangerous pranks that the crew would be played upon. The image of Johnny Knoxville being fired out of the canon with wings like an angel certainly flies up to our expectations as well. The new trailer shows us the crew getting slapped, punched, and fired up, explosions in the toilet, electric wires stuck to the genitals, tarantulas around the face, venomous snakes on the nose, and last but not the least, it shows us never to trust their coffee place.

Jackass Forever Release Date

Save the date – February 4th

The film was set to release in 2021, but because of the pandemic, it got delayed. And now it’s promised to be out on February 4, 2022, and we can’t wait any longer!

Jackass Forever: After 11 years, the original cast comes together for the last time.

Jackass Forever is going to be the last and the ‘gnarliest’ of the Jackass film series. The crew has certainly grown older but the creative shit has not!  Although understanding the limitations of the body that comes with age, Knoxville had said “you can only take so many chances before something irreversible happens.” and hence it’s the original crew’s last stunt before they retire.

Just like the tv show and prior films, Jackass forever would have as its director, producer, and writer as Jeff Tremaine. The tradition also continues with writer Spike Jonze, photographer and co-producer Sean Cliver, and camera operators Lance Bangs and Rick Kosick.

Other members of the original crew include Chris Pontius, Dave England, Wee Man, Danger Ehren, and Preston Lacy. We won’t be able to see Bam Margera because of some issues during production. There would also be guest appearances by celebrities like Eric André, Tory Belleci, Shaquille O’Neal, Tony Hawk, and others. Unfortunately, for the first time, Rip Taylor won’t be a guest star as he died in 2019.

How did Jackass Forever start?

John Knoxville came to Los Angeles in the late 1990s with a bunch of ideas in his mind. One of them was to test various equipment of self-defense on himself and make a story out of it. Due to liability reasons, it could not be covered. But then John came in touch with a skateboarding magazine Big Brother which was edited by Jeff Tremaine and hence came out the Big Brother video with the title Number 2. Knoxville in the video tested out a stun gun, pepper spray, a taser, and a .38 caliber gun with a bulletproof vest.

Also during this time, skateboarder Bam Margera started to film his family and friends performing pranks and stunts and called them the CKY crew, which was short for “Camp Kill Yourself”. He released them on home video as part of the CKY video series. Video caught the attention of Jeff Tremaine after it became a cult hit.

The CKY group thus became part of the idea that Knoxville, Spike Jonze, and Tremaine had been planning about. The idea of a television show involving stunts and pranks. And thus Jackass was born. The show aired on October 1, 2000, and the second episode gave MTV its highest Sunday ratings with almost 2.5 million viewers.

When Jackass started as an MTV series, the president of MTV had said: “We just knew there were a bunch of knuckleheads out there who had a very high tolerance for stupidity and pain.” and now, as the franchise shoots their last movie, they ended the trailer with a warning to the viewers and their ‘dumb little buddies’ not to attempt them!
