This fairy tale mashup will hold all your attention. This story follows a young woman who befriends but ultimately betrays a witch, then follows her daughter as she repeats a similar fate.
Agnes begins a friendship with her neighbor Mathilda when she moves into a cottage. She turns out to have magical powers. Mathilda agrees to help Agnes have a child so long and Agnes promises to her that she will always remain a loyal friend. Later Agnes broke her promise to remain a loyal friend.
After Seventeen years Agnes’s daughter Elva started to get visions of the future and she went out for help from the same witch. Dao creates a fascinating world by combining threads from multiple fairy tales (magic mirrors, mystical pregnancies, lucky fish), where all the stories are true and untrue.
This novel is set in Northern Europe in the 1800s and the main characters in the story are portrayed as white. Once you will end this book surely you will wait for the sequel eagerly.
